Initialled RC in the original drawing and signed below in pencil by the artist. Dates from circa. 1953 from the period when he was living at Tilty Mill farm in Essex. This is a very Rare piece.

This unique image is one of the most iconic by  Robert Colquhoun and was to be used for one of the 11 oil paintings produced in 1958 for an exhibition. This large scale oil is now in the Edinburgh Museums and Galleries collection. See plate 72 and page 76 text "The two Roberts" National galleries of Scotland publication. 2014

Provenance:
This work is one of a number that came from a private collection all having been  acquired direct from the artist by Sir Colin Anderson who was a Patron of the artist.They have remained in the same family for over 60 years.
