When we recently sat chatting to Leigh Davis about his work he said
My paintings are created by working from the memory of the atmosphere, light and colour of the landscape. In terms of composition I let the pieces take me on their own journey.
Leigh Davis came to visit us in January at the Connect Art Fair in London where we discussed the new work that he was producing .We have been fans of Leigh’s for a number of years and are delighted to now be able to offer a wonderful collection of recent work by Leigh here on our website .

Leigh Davis was born in Shrewsbury in 1976 and between 1995 until 1997 he studied Silversmithing and Jewellery in Birmingham. Leigh is a artisan , a talented ceramicist, and sculptor in woods, metals and plastics, as well as a fabulous artist. Leigh has a particular fascination with the deconstruction and isolation of forms and focal points within the landscape. A recent example of this is the work he has recently produced for us based upon time spent in and around the East coat of Suffolk and Essex . The areas around Pin Mill and Southwold have long been a draw for many artists and Leigh Davis is no exception . The quays , half rotten and abandoned boats , the moorings and derelict shoreline buildings are all inspiration for his current series of new work that we are delighted to be able to feature here.
In addition many of his paintings have featured the countryside around his home , the dramatic coastline of the Gower Peninsular and the rich and varied coastline of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly .

These continue to feature in his recent work and both Melanie and I are delighted to have this artists work in our own personal collection .
