John Houston and Elizabeth Blackadder stayed on Harris in 1974 and 1975 when they both produced a number of works very typical of their respective output at that time . This is a lovely Houston !

Provenance

This piece comes from a private collection by decent and is accompanied by its original Mercury gallery exhibition catalogue from May 1975 where it was exhibited as number 19 in the sale. It has the exhibition labels verso and the title ‘ light on the sea’ oil on an accompanying label.
