Ralph BRown RA

Ralph Brown was a prolific British sculptor whose working life spanned more than 60 years. He first exhibited in London in1953 and Henry Moore was among the first to purchase and promote his work. Brown soon rose to prominence among the select group of post-war British sculptors who were exhibiting in the 1950’s and 60's.

His work has been shown widely since then, with solo and group exhibitions in the UK, Continental Europe and the USA. His sculptures are in worldwide public and private collections.

​​Brown studied at the Leeds and Hammersmith Art Schools and the Royal College of Art, where he was a visiting tutor from 1958 to 1973. He was elected to the Royal Academy of Arts in 1968 and became a Royal Academician in 1972​

​​Ralph Brown worked as a sculptor for nearly 60 years and while always remaining true to his obsession with the human figure, his work evolved during the course of six decades.
